The purpose of this Task Force is to develop procedures and processes to improve the diagnosis and management of patients from birth to adolescence

 

Terms of reference

  1. To identify, prioritise and coordinate projects to support the emerging science in pediatriclaboratory medicine across the total testing process.
  2. To review the current concepts in Pediatric Laboratory Medicine and advance laboratory practice through the development and dissemination of position papers and guidelines.
  3. To develop existing links and established new links with clinical and scientific societies working in other specialist organizations including neonatology, pediatrics, inherited metabolic diseases and other rare diseases.
  4. To lead education activities, including the tri-annual congress of Pediatric Laboratory Medicine.
  5. To coordinate a worldwide network of scientists working in laboratories specialized in Emerging Pediatric Laboratory Medicine (C-EPLM).
  6. To work to support emerging economies in Pediatric Laboratory Medicine.
