Gentian is a privately held company with products and patent protected technologies for chemical analysis of human and veterinary samples.
Gentian’s tests are based on particle enhanced turbidimetry and nephelometry. Focusing on precise measurements of kidney function, Gentian has become a leading force in introducing the novel renal marker Cystatin C in routine diagnostics in clinical laboratories worldwide. Superior to serum creatinine, MDRD and invasive renal diagnostic methods, Cystatin C is also an early risk marker for cardiovascular disease.
