IFCC has been involved in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic since it began. This has included producing webinars for the training and education of laboratory professionals. Laboratory specialists from around the world are involved in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the main challenges remaining include the limited testing capacity for SARS-CoV-2, the professional training of specialists, and maintaining quality control during diagnosis, standardization, prognostication, and therapeutic monitoring of patients with COVID-19.
During the webinar, the speakers discussed:
- "Increasing the testing capacity for SARS-CoV-2 molecular detection by specimen pooling: a practical guide for diagnostic centers" – Dr. Daniel Cruceriu
- "Specialist role in the analytical phase of laboratory diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2” – Dr. Mirela Ahmadi
- "Quality Management - EQC a useful tool for IQC" – Dr. Constanta Popa and Dr. Georgeta Sorescu
Chair: Dr Constanta Popa
A certificate of participation was provided at the end of the webinar.
The IFCC Live Webinar Series is partially sponsored by Siemens and Boston Children's Hospital
