A new IFCC Working Group on Cancer Genomics

Novel genomic methods are being used or proposed for near-term use, in clinical laboratories for oncology. Laboratory guidelines specific to genomic testing are heterogenous amongst countries and professional societies. Genomic lab methods are becoming common place in oncology. The WG on Cancer Genomics will assemble comprehensive surveys of (i) technologies and (ii) standards/regulations; will create a framework to guide clinical laboratories in genomic test implementation, and will publish and present framework to stakeholders.
